The Vineyard Retreat:

A mid-summer wellness retreat on Martha’s Vineyard.

Retreat I – Sunday July 7, 2019 to Wednesday July 10, 2019
Retreat II – Wednesday July 10, 2019 to Saturday July 13, 2019

Our mission is to provide each guest with a holistic menu of inspiring movement classes, locally sourced meals and ample open time to drop into the joy that is island life.

Accommodations:

The retreat is held at the Vineyard Arts Project residence in the heart of Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. We offer single, double and triple room options and all include a private bath.

Meals:

As lovers of the local food scene on MV we put a big focus on providing a healthy (and delicious!) menu. Guests will enjoy breakfast daily, as well as a local cheese and chocolate tasting and two group dinners prepared by renowned island chef. (All locally sourced ingredients).

  • *All rooms include private bath.

  • *Price is per person and includes daily yoga & barre classes, breakfast and two group dinners (chocolate & wine tasting, cooking demonstration and private lawn concert). parking and wi-fi also included.

  • *Space is limited and rooms are assigned on a first come, first served basis.

  • *Additional on-site wellness services available by appointment. Our event coordinator will be on site to help make your stay perfect – including dining reservations, activity coordination, appointments, etc.

  • Daily Yoga & Barre classes in our state of the art studios with Johanna, Roxie and Jessica.

  • Daily breakfast and two group dinners (locally-sourced ingredients).

  • Cooking demonstration, Wine & Chocolate Tasting & Private Lawn Concert.

  • Optional Activities: Massage, Acupuncture, Running, Biking, Clamming in Katama Bay, Kayaking on Chappy, Paddle Boarding, Nutrition sessions and more (additional fees may apply).

  • Walk or bike to Edgartown to explore this historic village, enjoy a meal or do a little shopping.

  • Guests will also have plenty of down time to relax & explore the island.

A day in the life… 

– 7:15am – Barre with Jess in studio II (45 mins) or Pilates with Mollie in Studio II (45 mins)
– 8:30am – Yoga with Johanna in Studio I (60 mins)
– 9:30am – Breakfast of local Mermaid Farm yogurt, blueberries and homemade granola, farm-fresh eggs and mixed greens.
– 5:00pm – Yoga with Roxie in Studio I (90 mins)
– 7:30pm – Farm to Table Dinner followed by a private lawn concert with local band, Good Night Louise!

Intelligent Body Consciousness

When we take a yoga class, we aren’t just moving our arms and legs, standing up and bending down. All the while the brain and receptors and muscles are in conversation, relaying information about the body’s overall position. This is proprioception– an understanding of where our body is living in space. Proprioception is one of the many things that allows us to move the body in specific and graceful ways. For some it’s a natural art, for others it is a skill that needs some developing, but either way it is an inherent aptitude we all possess. This workshop will offer you an opportunity to practice this tool of tuning into embodiment and self awareness.

Winter and its's solstice- the longest night of the year- are almost here. Winter is the Earth's season to grow quiet and everything seems to slow and sleep. It is our opportunity to move inward, to incubate, to rest and renew. Sunday December 17th we honor the coming of Winter Solstice, cheeks flushed and hearts warmed in delightful celebration! 

Join Roxie for a two-hour workshop of magnetic vinyasa that flickers and warms like candle light, velvety yin postures, and the soft settling inner quiet of Yoga Nidra- aka yogic sleep. The Winter and it's darkest night are here, and it's time to refresh and quiet, to tap into the body and mind's natural balance, and find that place of deep inner stabilty and inner peace.

Pre-Thanksgiving Practice

Looking for a proactive remedy for holiday excess foods and stress? Join Roxie for a two hour workshop that will stimulate healthy digestion and tend the nervous system – a physical movement outlet to burn off some of that holiday surplus, in healthy way, not as a form of guilt or punishment.

This workshop will explore the twisting and turning poses in a steadily paced warming sequence. It’s a physical practice sewn together with gratitude for the breath, mindful movement, and quiet awareness. The workshop will end gently to leave you feeling calm, replenished and nourished.
