A Winter Practice
Winter Solstice- the longest night of the year- is almost here. A natural call to grow quiet, slow and sleep. It is our opportunity to move inward, to incubate, to rest and renew. Join Roxie for the fourth annual two-hour winter workshop of magnetic slow flow that flickers and warms like candle light, velvety floor work, and the soft settling of Yoga Nidra- aka yogic sleep. Let’s gather to practice asana, meditation, and visualization and connect with our inner light on this long winter’s night.’
what is yoga
There’s a quote, “yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
I can’t say I know what Yoga is. But I do feel sure that it is an exploration. A deep sea diving expedition. A pilgrimage. An uncovering, detangling, meander towards the self. Where you slowly gather more of who you are. And this yoga practice of asana isn’t just being a triangle, or being an eagle. Nor is it strengthening and lengthening. The physical yoga practice of asana is brushing off the dust and covers and cobwebs, feeling something good become unearthed.
A little more self, emerging.
